Vehicle: Ford Transit Custom Panel Van
Build Details: Ace Customs undertook a from scratch build of the interior of this Ford Transit van to convert it into the ultimate mobile party van. Also a requirement was for the rear seats to convert to a sleeping area as well as an independently controller rear air-conditioning unit. In addition, the centre partition (between driver and rear) was removed and the front seats reupholstered to match. Another highlight of this build is the TV which is hidden within the bar counter and rises automatically when powered on.

Build Details: Local tuning shop Sportech, commissioned Ace Customs to complete a full audio system upgrade in this 300C which included custom door panels, lighting and integration into the complex 19 speaker factory Harmon Kardon audio system.

Vehicle: Mastercraft
Build Details: On this marine audio install, the brief from the client was quite simply “make it loud”. And “make it loud” we did! A custom enclosure was built to house a 12” subwoofer driven by a Rockford Fosgate amplifier mounted in a custom amplifier rack. The white vinyl finish was maintained throughout the interior with blue LED lighting for effect. Four marine canister speakers were also included in the install.

Vehicle: Ford Ranger T6 Wildtrak
Build Details: A customer from a neighboring African country travelled to South Africa so that Ace Customs could undertake the audio install and customisation on his brand new Ford Ranger. A full Rockford Fosgate audio system that would provide excellent sound quality was required but with one specific install requirement. It had to be extreme custom – no standard enclosures or door panels here. Lighting, fiberglass work, console and dashboard modifications, this build had it all.

Electronics: 9” Alpine display head unit, 2x Rockford Fosgate T400x2ad (mini) amplifiers, 2x Rockford Fosgate T400x4ad (mini) amplifiers, Rockford Fosgate P3 10” shallow subwoofer (in custom vented enclosure), 2x Rockford Fosgate T4 splits (front), Rockford Fosgate T1 coaxials (rear), 1 Farad capacitor, Rockford Fosgate wiring, custom made switch panel (to control extensive spotlight system).
Recent Upgrades: Replacement of P3 subwoofer with a Rockford Fosgate T1 Power shallow subwoofer and the addition of a Rockford Fosgate T500-1bd ‘Constant Power’ amplifier (to drive the T1) to replace 1x T400x2ad.
Vehicle: 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air
Build Details: A well-known and influential business man brought Ace Customs his ’56 Chevrolet Bel Air (pillar-less) for a host of interior upgrades as well as numerous mechanical repairs. The interior upgrades included a full-length “flowing” centre console which had to incorporate the Alpine touch-screen head unit, cup holders, lighting, gear shifter and subwoofer port (between the rear seats). In addition to the centre console, full custom door panels with polished aluminum inserts and storage pockets were fabricated from scratch. A custom engine cover was also fabricated to cover the LS2 motor and tidy-up the engine bay. The engine cover was colour coded and adorned with ‘Bel Air’ and Chevrolet emblems. A multitude of mechanical and electrical repairs were also completed, many of which were required as a result of other shops poor workmanship and lack of pride in their work.

Recent Upgrades: Addition of a gear shift surround, “touch button” starter system and a full detail with Meguiar’s car care products.
Vehicle: Ford Tourneo Custom
Build Details: A large corporate consulting firm commissioned Ace Customs to build a mobile office inside a van for the purposes of holding meetings and consultations in a comfortable, professional and private environment whilst on-site at remote locations (where there are no formal office or meeting room facilities, for example at a mine). The mobile office van had to include seating for three, a capable multi-function printer, storage for files and paperwork as well as a work surface for a laptop computer and or signing of documents. The mobile office also had to be capable of powering the required equipment (off battery) for approximately six (6) hours. All surfaces had to be hard wearing and easy to clean to ensure the longevity of the vehicle.

Vehicle: 1991 BMW 325is (e30)
Build Details: The owner of this iconic vehicle, commonly known as a “Gusheshe” in South Africa at first wanted a ‘factory standard’ restoration completed on the vehicle. However, after purchasing another concourse condition 325is this build evolved into a restoration which would give the 325is a “one-off” feel whilst still maintaining the essence of the iconic car. The following was completed as part of the restoration: Exterior:
• Full respray in original BMW red (the vehicle was completed striped and all windows and trims were removed)
• Custom made front bumper splitter
• E30 M3 suspension
• 18” Rezax Works wheels (resprayed in matt grey)
• Tinted windows
• Factory brake calipers resprayed in red
• BMW 1M tailpipes
Interior:
• Original seats reupholstered in Nappa leather with Alcantara inserts and ‘M Performance’ embroidered stripes
• Steering wheel reupholstered in Nappa leather and Alcantara

Build Details: : A local car dealership sales person approached Ace Customs to install an audio system upgrade in a 2016 Ford Mustang which they had just sold. The client wanted a significant upgrade on the factory system that would provide greater clarity, bass and volume as well as a “wow factor” in the boot all whilst retaining the ability to use the vehicles boot.

Build Details:After seeing our work and meeting the Ace Customs team at the Speed & Sound Motor Expo in 2016, the owner of this Toyota Tundra (a special import vehicle into South Africa) decided it was time to “pimp his ride”. The build originally started out as only the reupholstering of the front seats with some custom embroidery of the ‘iForce’ logo on the seats. But, as many of our builds do it evolved to include a full audio system upgrade, installation (to be built-in) of a powered cooler box (fridge), matching of the door panels and centre console to the new seat upholstery, vinyl graphics, upgrade headlights, fender flares and colour coding of brake calipers. The client also added bigger, black wheels and a chrome roll bar.

Another highlight of this build is the TV which is hidden within the bar counter and rises automatically when powered on.

Vehicle: Hummer H2
Build Details: The owner of this monster of a vehicle approached Ace Customs for a custom interior as well as ‘bangin’ audio system. The seats were reupholstered in leather with Alcantara inlays and diamond stitching. Custom door panels were fabricated to accommodate the Rockford Fosgate 8” marine speakers as well as an illuminated inlay with the customer’s nick name. Custom ‘A’ pillars were also fabricated to house the marine tweeters. The dashboard was “flocked” as well as several other interior accent pieces. A custom subwoofer box was built to accommodate the subwoofer under the rear seat. The subwoofer enclosure incorporated a machined square port on one side. The Rockford amplifier bass control was incorporated into the overhead console. Vinyl decals were also added to the outside of the vehicle, again with the customer’s nick name. Several paintwork repairs were also completed as well as the installation of a rear-view camera and an LED light bar.

Vehicle: Hyundai H1 Van
Build Details: The owner of this van wanted to give the interior some new life whilst also giving it a bit more flare. A two-tone black and beige design was decided upon (to match the rest of the trim panels) with a diamond stitch in the centre for that classy feel. Door handles were also recovered as they were showing signs of wear. A custom gear knob inlay of the Ace Customs logo was fabricated and the single subwoofer box was covered to match the black and beige theme. A head unit upgrade in the form of a Kenwood double-din was also supplied and installed. Some minor paintwork repairs were also carried out on the vehicle as well as the removal of vinyl security lettering from the roof.
